What is MP3?
MP3 is an audio compression mode using Level 3 of the
international MPEG standards. The sound signal is com-
pressed to a level of 12:1. An MP3 disc can comprise
600 minutes of music or more than 170 tracks.
Playing MP3s
File Menu for MP3 Playback
For the playback of an MP3 disc, two fi le menus can be
selected: „FILE LIST“ and „FOLDER“. Press the PROG
button to access them.
1. FILE LIST
Here the fi les which are to be played back can be
selected by pressing the UP/DOWN arrow buttons
in combination with the ENTER button. The fi les can
also be selected directly with the help of the number
buttons and then pressing the ENTER button.
2. FOLDER
Here the menu is initially displayed. With the help
of the arrow buttons (up, down, right, left) and the
ENTER button a submenu can be selected.
JPEG FILES
JPEG is the most common format standard for compres-
sing fi xed-image fi les.
Even if the images are compressed 15-20 times, their
quality is still good. Almost all image processing software
programs support JPEG. It is the ideal format for image
storage and very user-friendly. This device can read
Picture-CD fi les produced in JPEG format.
1. Once the disc has been inserted, the search for disc
information is started.
2. Press the number button in order to select an image.
3. Depending on which image you would like to select,
the number button or the direction button will be
faster.
Selection via Menu
1. Once the disc has been inserted the search for disc
information is started and the main menu appears on
the screen. Press number button 1 to call up the fi rst
image and confi rm with the PLAY button.
2. With the help of the direction buttons you can select
an image. Then confi rm with the PLAY button.
3. In stop mode you can select further pictures using
the direction buttons.
4. If the fi rst line on the right is selected in stop mode,
you can return to the upper section of the menu by
pressing the PLAY button.
TROUBLESHOOTING
If problems occur during operation of the DVD player,
you can use one of the following methods to correct
them.
Problem
Possible fault correction
No power
1. Check whether the mains plug is correctly inserted in
the socket.
No sound
1. Check the connection between the DVD player and
television set and each other connected device.
2. Check whether the correct mode is set for the televi-
sion and amplifi er.
Surround loudspeakers are distorted.
Check the medium. In the case of VCDs and S-VCDs it
is possible that the coding of the background signals is
faulty, depending on the application of the user software.
Radio operation: RDS display appears and disappears
Under critical reception conditions the RDS display
changes with the frequency display. This is not a fault.
No picture
1. Check the connection between the DVD player and
television set and each other connected device.
2. Check whether the television set is switched on.
3. If you have selected Progressive Scan although
this is not supported by your television set, please
proceed as follows:
1. Switch off the device by the mains switch for
approximately 10 sec.
2. Switch on the device and wait until the read-in
procedure is fi nished.
3. Press the “SETUP” button.
4. Press the “right” button once.
5. Press the “ENTER” button.
6. Press the “down” button twice.
7. Press the “ENTER” button.
8. Press the “up” button three times.
9. Press the “ENTER” button.
10. Press the “SETUP” button to leave the menu
which is now visible.
Disc playback does not work
1. Check whether the disc has been inserted in the
drawer with the marked side facing upwards.
2. Check whether the disc is clean. It must not be cove-
red with dust, particles of dirt or fi ngerprints.
3. Check whether the disc is placed correctly in the
drawer.
4. Check whether the parental lock function is switched
on.
5. Check whether the disc is designated for use in your
region.
Remote control does not work
1. Check the batteries and replace them if necessary.
2. Check whether any objects are located between the
remote sensor located on the front of the device and
the remote control.
3. The remote control must be pointed in the direction
of the sensor on the device.
