Other Settings
Please follow the steps listed below in this order to set
the outgoing analogue and digital audio formats of other
tracks:
A. Press SETUP in stop mode.
B. Select “Audio” and press ENTER.
C. Select “Others” and press ENTER.
D. Setting the analogue output:
2-channel (preset): for playing back 2-channel stereo
audio sound via the stereo audio output, e.g. for a
VCR or TV.
E. Setting the digital output (of the optical output):
PCM (preset): for playing back 2-channel digital
sound via optical/coaxial digital audio outputs, e.g.
with MiniDisc recorders.
OFF: for deactivating the audio output “CD Others”.
F. Press SETUP to store and leave the menu.
Other Audio Settings (More Audio)
In addition, the audio menu contains Prologic and sub-
woofer settings.
Prologic Settings
The DVD player has a built-in Dolby Prologic decoder
to produce virtual 5.1-channel surround sound for PCM
(stereo) sources:
A. Press SETUP in stop mode.
B. Select “More Audio” and press ENTER.
C. Select Prologic and press ENTER.
D. Select the desired Prologic setting and press ENTER:
On: all audio soundtracks are played back in Dolby
Prologic mode.
Off: (preset): Dolby Prologic decoding is always
inactive.
E. Press SETUP to store and leave the menu.
Subwoofer Settings
It is necessary to state in the menu system whether your
audio setup includes a subwoofer.
A. Press SETUP in stop mode.
B. Select “More Audio” and press ENTER.
C. Select “Subwoofer” and press ENTER.
D. Select the desired subwoofer setting and press
ENTER.
On (preset): This means that you are using a sub-
woofer for LFE signals (low-frequency effects).
E. Press SETUP to store and leave the menu.
