AUDIO FORMAT
Overview
-
A total of 4 inputs A, B, C, D (4 stereo pairs / 8 channels) may be processed by the DVE5000.
Audios A and B may be used from a combination of sources, for example Audio A may come
from the embedded (HD)SDI signal and Audio B from the Analogue inputs.
Audios A and B may have “compression” applied, which can be either Mpeg Layer 1 or Mpeg
Layer 2.
Only
one
compression scheme is allowed at a time; Audio A setting will override Audio B setting
if an attempt to select differing compressions is made.
Audios A and B may also be used in Linear PCM or Dolby modes, and may be used in addition
to compression on the other channel pair.
Audios C and D may
only
come from an embedded source in SDI or HDSDI and can only be
used in Linear PCM or Dolby modes.
These channels are inhibited if Audios A & B are both set to Mpeg Layer 1.
The tables below show the allowable combinations of Layer 1, Layer 2, Linear PCM and Dolby
settings related to inputs A, B, C, D. -
When sourcing from (HD)SDI, any of the 4 “groups” in the video signal may be selected.
Note; The 4 channels in a group are allocated to a two of the input pairs and cannot be
separated eg if input A and B are both set to (HD)SDI embedded source ‘group 1’ then
channels 1 & 2 of the group are routed to A and channels 3 & 4 of the group are routed to B.
A & B are linked, C & D are linked, but pairs AB CD operate independently.
Care should be made in selection as A can override B or vice versa, as can C override D.
