4.3. AC POWER
Power in the range 90 – 264Vac is connected by means of a 3-pin IEC connector at the rear
panel.
Live & Neutral conductor fusing is employed.
The two fuses integrated into the IEC connector should be ceramic at
T5A
rating each.
The total power consumption is typically less than 60watts.
!!!!
NOTE
:
A separate EMC earth should be connected to the earth point provided.
4.4. RF 1 OUTPUT
This 50R N-type connector provides the prime RF output at L-band.
Maximum output is +5dBm, with a 40dB control range. Maximum output can be set by menu
function to -5dBm.
!!!!
CAUTION:
This connector can have DC present, selectable from the “RF OPTIONS” “BUC
DC” menu. This will always have DC present if HPA control via L-Band is turned on.
4.5. RF2 / MONITOR OUTPUT
This 50R N-type connector provides at L-band –20dB+/-3dB reduced output relative to the L-
band at the RF connector.
This monitor connector is provided to connect to a local IRD or spectrum analyser.
NOTE:
No DC is present at this connector.
4.6. ASI INPUT
This 75R BNC enables an external ASI stream to be multiplexed with the internal “service” of
the exciter.
The internal service (encoder) may be turned off from the REMUX menu option, so that the
DVE5000 is used just as a ‘modulator’.
See multiplexer option in “Operation Guide” section of this manual.
4.7. CVBS INPUT (SD ONLY)
This 75R BNC is the analogue video input at 1volt peak to peak, to the exciter.
PAL and NTSC formats are supported.
4.8. HDSDI (HD) SDI (SD OPTION) INPUT
This 75R BNC is the input connector for serial digital video, conforming to ITU-R BT656 or
ANSI/SMPTE 259M level C @ 270Mb/s for SD. Max cable length 300 Metres.
PAL and NTSC formats are supported, which can contain 4 channels (2 stereo) of embedded
audio.
For HD the connector carries HDSDI to SMPTE 292M @ 1.485 Gbit/s max cable 100 Metres.
