Figure 8.10: LCD
On this screen, the user can perform various tests to troubleshoot the instrument’s LCD display.
The color wheel located on the right portion of the
LCD
screen displays a full range of colors.
• The colors should all be visible.
• If a color is missing, this is an indicator of an issue with the LCD display.
8.7.1 Brightness test
Use the brightness slider to test the LCD display backlight and the LCD backlight adjusts. This
screen is not where the brightness level can be set, refer to section H/W Options.
8.7.2 Pixel test
Use this to test for issues regarding Dead pixels on the LCD display. Dead pixels are defective
pixels which display on the LCD as Black.
• To start the test, press
PIXEL TEST
. This opens a solid color screen.
• Press on the screen to advance to the next test pattern.
The various test patterns can help detect pixel issues, as different colors may make the issue
more visible. If a black pixel is detected, this is an indicator of a dead pixel. Also, if a pixel
displays not matching the color of the test pattern, this also indicates an issue with the LCD
display. If there is any issue with the LCD Display, contact Advanced Instruments Service.
