7.8.8 Send results
Results can be sent to the LIS computer automatically or manually.
Select the desired function:
• If automatically is selected, the results are reported to the LIS computer instantly.
• If manually is selected, the results need to be sent to the LIS computer by the user.
7.8.9 LIS mode
The instrument can communicate with the LIS in either bidirectional or unidirectional modes.
Select the LIS mode for your installation.
7.9 Service
The
Service
screen is only accessible to supervisors.
To perform system service, press
SERVICE
. The user is prompted to select a user, then enter
the password. The
Service
screen opens (Figure 7.25).
Here the supervisor can perform a system update, and manage system databases.

7.9.1 System update
The
System Update
screen will display the current revisions of software and firmware. To
perform an update, the Service (System Update) tab must be selected. (Figure 7.25) There are
two types of system updates, Software and Firmware.
The two updates shown on the
Service
screen are Display Board, and Control Board.
• Display Board indicates a Software update.
• Control Board indicates a Firmware update.
It is important to select the correct update type.
WARNING:
Once the update process is in progress, do not remove the USB memory
drive from the instrument, power off the instrument, or exit. Wait until the update
completes.
