Access the DS3’s diagnostic options by selecting

menu. The menu in Figure 6-2 appears.

DS3 Payload Loopback

During this test, all payload information is re-framed and looped
back towards the network. See Figure 6-3 on page 96 for a block
diagram illustrating the loopback point and the signal paths for this
test.

This test does not interrupt data flow from the network to the DTE,
but it does block all DTE-to-network data.
