Figure 1.11: Multiple master cards in one IPC
In the above case, 4 PCI-7852 cards are settled together (8 HSLink sets),
and each set of HSLink system equips it’s own slave I/O modules. To
distinguish different master card, PCI-7851,PCI-7852 provide a 3-bit
dip-switch to organize its card ID.
All master cards at the same IPC must
be configured different card ID.
*The feature supports by PCI-7851/52 hardware version A2.
Please refer to Chapter 2 “HSLink-Master” to get advanced
information.
HSLink Set ID:
There are two kind of HSLink master card supported by
ADLINK, PCI-7851& PCI-7852. The PCI-7851 supports 1 HSLink set (one
master), while the PCI-7852 supports 2 HSLink sets (two masters). In 7851,
the Set ID of the only HSLink set is ‘0’. In 7852, the Set ID is ‘0’ and ‘1’ to
distinguish the two HSLink sets.
Circuit:
A circuit is a loop of wiring that starts from the master card and
connects at most 32 slave I/O modules. There are two circuits in one HSLink
set, and the two circuits will carry the same signals sent from master. (For
detail description of circuit, please refer to chapter 2: HSLink-Master)
