SCSI Bus hangs, SCSI
Bus excessively
retries, and/or drives
drop offline.
■
Faulty connectivity.
■
Faulty SAF-TE disk
I/O card (JBOD or
daisy- chained
enclosure) or host
I/O card.
■
Re-check the cable
connections to the
SAF-TE disk I/O
card and/or host
disk I/O card.
■
If you have daisy-
chained storage
subsystems
connected on the
SCSI bus, you need
to perform some
fault isolation.
■
If all the disk drives
on one bus are
offline, start with the
daisy-chain storage
subsystem.
Disconnect the data
cable. If the
remaining disk
drives return to a
normal state, it
indicates that the
isolated storage
subsystem has the
faulty component.
■
If this does not
return the remaining
drives to a normal
state, it is a good
indication that the
problem is in the first
storage subsystem
and/or its SAF-TE
disk I/O card.
■
You may use the
SAF-TE disk I/O
card from the other
storage subsystem or
a new, known good
card. Substitute this
card for the suspect
card and it should
return the storage
subsystem bus to a
normal condition.
