5 Maintenance
5.1 Cleaning the generator output
The internal structure of the LED source, in
conjunction with the fixed jack, keeps dirt in check
and under control. Unlike normal connectors with
fiber/fiber junctions, regular cleaning is
unnecessary.

Clean the connectors on your test cables
before hooking them up.
Þ
Exercise caution when using unfamiliar
cables. Make sure the connectors are in good
shape.

When you take a break, always close the
protective cover if you remove the test cable
from the connector.
If over time the output level deviates from the
normal value (reference measurement), the test
connector might be soiled.
Clean the generator output as follows
Use clean pressurized air to clean the connector
(e.g. anti dust spray). Note the following:

Hold the little tube a small distance from the
jack or at an angle.
Þ
Carefully press the spray button at short
intervals.
Þ
Do not insert the spray tube into the jack.
