This chapter mainly describes the checkpoints before the machine goes into operation.
WARNING
Before checking, please make sure to cut off the power supply to avoid
danger resulted from a malfunction.
CAUTION
Please make sure to lock up the 2 casters, except when moving the machine.
1. Internal inspections

Check the caster locks
Confirm that the two casters under the cutting chamber are locked securely.

Opening the feed hopper Loosen the following fasteners of the feed hopper,

Loosen the clip on the back face of hopper open and close fulcrum.
WARNING
When opening the feed hopper, hold the feed hopper with both hands and
tilt it back slowly. Do not insert hands and fingers near the stopper plate.
Inserting hands or fingers into the pinch points will cause a danger of
lacerations and fractures.

Check the granulator’s
interior

Check for any foreign objects mixed inside.
◇
Check that the fixed bolts for the fixed cutters & scrapers are tight.

Closing the hopper
Close the feed hopper and surely clamp its parts described in below:

The clip on the opposite face of the hopper open and close fulcrum.
WARNING
Surely fasten up both chamber clips and the knob-bolt.
The machine will stop when pressing the red STOP button or E-
Stop button;
or
when the hopper fasteners are loosened and tilted open.
The hopper will open completely if the clips were not tightened.
The limit switches will disengage when the hopper is opened, and the machine
stops. However, the rotary cutters will keep turning for about a half of revolution
because of inertia.
This is very dangerous, therefore, please
fasten the clips
before the machine is
started.
Also, when closing the hopper, lift it slowly, and avoid all pinch-points with your
fingers. Your hands or fingers may be fractured when pinched!
