2.2.3.2 Adjusting the instrument to the parameters of the transducer being used
The adjustment is divided into two stages. At the first stage the instrument automatically analyses the characteristics of
EMAT, at the second stage the instrument adjusts to them using a real echo-signal from the calibration sample integrated in
the instrument.
- to adjust the instrument to the individual used EMAT parameters:
- Enter the SETUP mode.
- Select the "Probe" line and press the F1 key (Test). The screen will dis-
play the message: “PROBE ZEROING - Take
the probe and holding it in your hands press
ENTER”.
- Not letting EMAT to contact the calibra-
tion sample, press the
key.
The message "Testing in process – Please
wait…" is displayed on the screen.
Wait for the “Testing process – Place the
probe on zeroing sample and press ENTER” to
appear on the screen.
- Install EMAT on the calibration sample
of the instrument and press the key
.
The message "Testing in process – Please
wait…" is displayed on the screen.
- Upon completion of the testing the mes-
sage will be displayed informing on the results:
a positive result with an indication of the thick-
ness value of the calibration sample, or a neg-
ative result with the message "Testing failed”.
