ACPI Suspend Type
This item specifies the power saving modes for
ACPI function. Options are:
S1/POS
: The S1 sleep mode is a low power
state. In this state, no system context is lost
(CPU or chipset) and hardware maintains all
system context.
S3/STR
: The S3 sleep mode is a lower power
state where the information of system
configuration and open applications/files is
saved to main memory that remains powered
while most other hardware components turn off
to save energy. The information stored in
memory will be used to restore the system
when a “wake up” event occurs.

S3/STR
Run VGABIOS if S3 Resume
When ACPI Suspend Mode is set to S3 or
S1&S3, users can select the options in this
field. Selecting [Yes] allows BIOS to call
VGABIOS to initialize the VGA card when
system wakes up (resumes) from S3 sleep
state. The system resume time is shortened
when you disable the function, but system will
need an AGP driver to initialize the VGA card.
Therefore, if the AGP driver of the card does
not support the initialization feature, the display
may work abnormally or not function after
resuming form S3.
