Memory test failed.
1. Ensure that the memory settings in the BIOS setup utility
are correct.
2. Make sure that each memory module is properly inserted in
its socket; reinsert the memory modules.
3. Make sure that the memory module type is correct (RIMM,
EDO, SDRAM, etc.).
4. Refer to the Service Guide FRU list to make sure that the
memory module(s) used by the system are Acer qualified.
5. Replace the memory module.
6. Main board.
Incorrect memory size shown or repeated during POST. 1. Insert the memory modules in the DIMM (or RIMM) memory
sockets properly and then reboot the system.

Memory system ROM checksum failed.
1. Remove one memory module at a time until the error
message stops.
2. Replace other removed modules one at a time, testing
each to ensure that the error does not return.
3. Replace the main board.
Insufficient memory error during operation.

Diskette Drive
NOTE: Ensure that the diskette drive is configured correctly in BIOS Setup and that its read/write head is clean
before diagnosing any diskette drive problems.
Can’t write to diskette.
1. Ensure that the diskette is not write-protected.
2.
Replace another floppy diskette to make sure that the
diskette you have inserted is good.
3. Ensure that the diskette drive is not set to
Write protect
in the Security Options of BIOS Setup.
Can’t read a diskette.
1. Ensure that the floppy diskette setting in the BIOS setup is
correct.
2. Replace another floppy diskette to make sure that the
diskette you have inserted is good.
3. Make sure that the diskette format is the same as the floppy
diskette drive.
Diskette drive test failed.
1. Try a new diskette.
2. Check the floppy diskette drive cable and floppy diskette drive power
cable connection.
3. Try another floppy diskette drive cable.
4. Try another floppy diskette power core cable.
5. Replace the diskette drive.
6. Main board.
Diskette drive does not work.
1. Ensure that the diskette drive is not set to
