Setting the Enclosure ID
Each of the fourteen disk drive slots of the Altos S700 Series has a
unique identifier assigned to it. This identifier is assigned using a
combination of the slot number and the enclosure ID.
The enclosure ID is set using the enclosure ID switch, located on the
rear of the Altos S700 (see Figure 3-1).
Note
: The enclosure ID must be set prior to powering on the
enclosure.
Note
: Each enclosure must have a separate ID when daisy chained
together.
Note
: 2Gb Amphenol cables must be used if 2Gb operation is
required.
Note
: Contact your sales person for a list of approved HBA’s.
