16. Information about range
The product works in the 868 MHz range which is also used by other radio services. Therefore,
restrictions in the operation and the range can occur through the devices which work on the same
or neighbouring frequency.
The range stated in the technical data is in the open-space range, i.e. the range at direct visible
contact between transmitter (radio remote control) and receiver (door lock actuator).
In practical operation, however, there are walls, the ceilings of rooms etc. between the transmitter
and the receiver which reduce the range correspondingly.
The range can be reduced appreciably partly through
• walls, reinforced concrete ceilings
• coated/steamed insulation glass panes
• vehicles
• trees, bushes, earth, rocks
• proximity to metallic objects (e.g. metal doors)
• proximity to the human body
• broadband disturbances, e.g. in residential areas (DECT telephone, mobile telephones, radio
headphones, radio loudspeakers, baby phones etc.)
• proximity to electric motors, transformers, power units, computers
• proximity to poorly shielded or openly operated computers or other electrical devices
+
As the local circumstances are different at every place of mounting, no certain range
can be guaranteed.
