5. Safety instructions
The warranty will lapse for damage due to non-compliance with these operating
instructions. We shall not be liable for any consequential loss!
We shall not accept liability for damage to property or personal injury caused
by incorrect handling or non-compliance with the safety instructions. Any claim
to warranty will lapse in such cases.
Dear Customer,
The following safety instructions are intended not only for the protection of your health
but also for the protection of the device. Please read through the following points atten-
tively:
Do not use this product in hospitals or medical institutions. Although the product only emits rela
-
tively weak radio signals, these could lead to disturbances of function in life-preserving systems.
The same can possibly apply in other areas.
The product may not become damp or wet. The door lock actuator is only suitable for dry rooms.
Do not expose the door lock actuator or the radio remote control to any direct sunlight, strong
heat, cold, dampness or wetness.
The product has no place in the hands of children (it includes small parts or a battery which could
be swallowed!) The device is not a toy.
For safety and licensing (CE) reasons, unauthorised conversion and/or modifications to the
product are not permitted.
Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly. Plastic foil/bags and polystyrene parts
etc. could become dangerous toys for children.
Handle the product with care. It can be damaged through impact, blows or by being dropped
even from a low height.
Exemption from liability
The product is a technical system which like other technical devices can fail for various
reasons. Please note the following therefore:
• Use only a cylinder lock with emergency operating functions which can be unlocked
or locked from outside if a key is inserted on the inside.
• Always carry the key which belongs to the lock or deposit it in a place which can be
reached in case of error (neighbour, office, car etc.).
• ABUS accepts liability within the framework of product liability for the product “”radio
door lock actuator KM 300 IQ+” itself; however not for subsequent damage during
operation or mounting!
