5.2 Cleaning filters
The filters trap a high proportion of the
cooking fumes and therefore should be
cleaned at least once a month in normal
use, preferably in a dishwasher. To avoid
trapping food particles in the filters, it is
advisable to wash them separately from
other tableware.
Place the filters horizontally in the
dishwasher to allow the water to penetrate
as far as possible into the filters and run off
easily for drying.
Filters may be cleaned
with dishwasher detergent.
The optional charcoal filters must be
cleaned every two months in the
dishwasher. They must be replaced after 15
cleaning cycles.
Do not use dishwasher
detergent
for cleaning charcoal filters, and
set the water temperature as high as
possible.
Ceiling-mounted extractors accumulate
visible grease deposits faster due to their
high position, so they require regular
cleaning. Extractors with perimeter
extraction build up thicker grease deposits
than conventional filter extractors.
