F. Tapping
Cables that are looped through may be tapped by using two
Bodies in the Cross-Connect Feeder Module termination.
See Figure 71.
Electrical connection is made as the bodies are crimped,
before the wires are cut.
1. Tapping a Non-Working Feeder Cable:
a. Cable twist can be eliminated by cutting the loop
center.
b. Place a Base in the Splicing Head and lay C.O. side
of loop pairs into it.
c. Place an MS
2
4002G Body over the Base and lay
opposite side of loop pairs into it.
d. Place a Cross Connect Module Body/Cover
Combination over the first Body and crimp. See
Figure 72.
2. Tapping into a Working Feeder Cable:
NOTE: Do not cut binder groups. Excess wires will be cut
as connection is made.
a. Lay C.O. side of loop into module base.
b. Place MS2 4002G Body over the Base and lay pairs
back over themselves as shown in Figure 73, leaving
excess slack out front of Module.
c. Place a Cross Connect Module Body/Cover
Combination over the first Body and crimp.
Connection will be made with no interruption of
service and excess wire will be cut. See Figure 74.
