The following sections describe how to upgrade software on your Switch 8800:

Always save the configuration file before upgrading applications.
Upgrading Software
Using FTP
Use the following procedure to upgrade software with FTP:

Log in to the system with super-user privileges.

From the SW8800 command line, transfer the file from the FTP server to the
system, using the
ftp
command.

Specify the file to boot the system from, using the
boot
command.

Reboot the system, using the
reboot
command.
The following example illustrates this procedure:

su
Password:
Now user privilege is 3 level, and just commands which level is
equal to or less than this level can be used.
Privilege note: 0-VISIT, 1-MONITOR, 2-SYSTEM, 3-MANAGE
