Multiple Service Example

•

VDSL services using VLAN tags can pass right through a bridged interface to a
service provider. However, if using ADSL over ATM, VLAN tags will need to be
translated into the ATM’s Virtual Paths (VPIs) and Virtual Channels (VCIs) for proper
packet handling to occur.

•

This next section will discuss how to do this through the VMG4005, even with its single
Ethernet port, presumably connected to another VLAN-aware router or switch that
accepts VLAN tags.

•

Below is the example we’ll use for this discussion.
