Router
Instructions
The
precautions
that
should
be
taken
when
routers
are
used
in
a
videoconferencing
system
are
as
follows:
l
Use enterprise-level switches and routers.
l
Do not use a hub.
l
The routers must support the
protocol and algorithm. If not, upgrade the software.
l
Set
parameters on the routers. Set QoS parameters for video services and
common services on the routers, so that video data packets are not discarded upon
network congestion.
l
Use as few router hops as possible. Video devices should be connected to the main
switch if possible. Reduce the number of the router hops to avoid too much network
transmission, which may affect video transmission.
l
Use different
s to separate the videoconferencing service from other services.
l
When the network is blocked, use the buffer queue technology as the first prevention
method. Large caches are preferred. Allocate an independent cache for each port.
