Broadcast SSID:
Enable or disable the broadcast of your network SSID. If the
broadcast is disabled, other users need to get your network SSID to find the Wi-Fi
hotspot.
Security:
Select the type of security you want:
Open
(not recommended),
WPA PSK
or
WPA2 PSK
(other users can access your mobile hotspot only if they enter the
correct password). When you select
WPA PSK
or
WPA2 PSK
, touch
Password
to
edit the security password.

Save
to save your settings.

To limit the number of devices to share your device’s data connection, touch
Manage
Users
>
Max connection
and select the number of the devices to limit.
5. Select the
Portable Wi-Fi hotspot
check box in the Tethering & portable hotspot
settings screen to turn on the hotspot.
To connect a device to the mobile Wi-Fi hotspot:
1. Enable Wi-Fi on your device (for example, a laptop computer).
2. Select the Network SSID for your mobile hotspot and enter the password if prompted.

When “Connected” appears on your device, launch your Web browser to confirm you
have an Internet connection.
Wi-Fi Direct
Wi-Fi Direct allows Wi-Fi devices to connect to each other without the need for wireless access
points (hotspots).
Note:
Activating this feature will disconnect your current Wi-Fi network connection.
1. Touch

2. Tick the
Wi-Fi direct
check box to turn on Wi-Fi direct.
3. Your phone will search for other devices enabled with Wi-Fi direct connections. Touch
Wi-Fi direct settings
to see all available devices.
4. Touch a device name to begin the connection process.
Note:
The target device must also have Wi-Fi Direct service activated and running before it
can be detected by your phone.
5. Touch
Connect
.
The other device will receive a Wi-Fi Direct connection prompt and need to accept the
request for connection.
