5.4.4. OPENVPN

All OpenVPN communications are based on a single IP port, have the UDP protocol communications by default and

recommended and also support the TCP. The official port designated to the OpenVPN by the IANA (Internet Assigned Authority) is

1194. In the OpenVPN, if the user accesses a remote virtual address (belonging to the card series matched with the virtual network,

different from an real address), then the operating system will send the data packets (TUN mode) or data frames (TAP mode) to the

virtual network card through the route mechanism and, after the service program receives the data and processes it accordingly,

send out from the extranet through the SOCKET. This forms a one-way transmission process, and vice versa. When the remote

service program receives data from the extranet through the SOCKET, processes it accordingly and send back to the virtual network

card, then the program can receive it.
