7.13.1 OPERATE – EXTEND THE BOOM

 

A.  Pull the PTO handle up to the engage position. 

B.  The boom extend / retract pedal controls the telescoping movements. Refer to Figure 

7-12.

Note: 

 

For the crane with deadman switches on the joysticks: 

You must push in the deadman switch (on left or right joystick) for the boom 

extend / retract pedal commands to operate the crane. 

 

For the crane with a deadman switch on the seat: 

You must sit on the seat until the indicator 

  illuminates for the boom extend / 

retract pedal commands to operate the crane. 

C.  When you tilt the pedal forward, the telescopic sections 1, 2 and 3 move out at the 

same time. Refer to Figure 7-13.
