Exporting Files From the AED
You can export the following data from a ZOLL AED 3 defibrillator:
• Clinical Archives (using USB or Wi-Fi)
•
Device History (using USB or Wi-Fi)
•
Configuration (using USB)
NOTE When transferring files via USB, the USB flash drive must be USB 1.1
or 2.0 compliant.
NOTE You do not need Supervisor access to export data files to a USB flash
drive or wireless access point.
Exporting Files
Use the following procedure to transfer files from the AED.
NOTE You cannot transfer configuration files through a wireless connection.
In order to transfer data via a wireless connection, you need to create a wireless
profile. If you have not already done so, see “Setting Up Your Wireless
Configuration” on page 57.
1.
Press and hold the On/Off button for longer than 5 seconds, then press
the Device Configuration icon to enter AED Management mode.

If you are transferring data:
•
Using a wireless connection, go to step 3.
• Using a USB flash drive, insert the flash drive into the USB connector
on the back of the AED. The USB device icon (
)appears in the
status bar at the bottom of the display screen.

Press the Export Files icon and select the following data option(s) to
transfer:
• Clinical Archives (all)
•
Clinical Archives (new)
• Device History
• Configuration (USB only)
A green check displays next to the option(s) you have selected.
4. Press Save (USB) or Send (Wi-Fi) . When the AED has finished
transferring data, it issues the prompt, DATA TRANSFER COMPLETE .
5. Press OK to return to the previous screen.
NOTE If you rename a configuration file with the intention of importing it into
another ZOLL AED 3 defibrillator, do not include spaces in the file name.
WARNING! Do not connect the AED to a computer or other device
(via the USB port) while the AED’s defibrillation pads are
still connected to the patient.
