OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

BEFORE YOUR FIRST FIRE

Make sure your appliance has been properly installed and that all safety requirements

have been met.

-  Check that the ash drawer and firebox are empty.

The ash drawer and door must be closed securely for proper and safe operation of the

pellet heater.

STARTING THE HEATER

1.  The First Ignition

When using your heater for the first time, ensure the hopper is clean and clear of any

foreign materials. Ensure there is current at your outlet.

2.  Start Up Procedure

i.  Check  the  burn  pot,  burn  pot  liner  and  ash  drawer.  Adjust  to  proper  position  if

necessary.

ii.  Fill the hopper with pellets. Do not allow any part of the bag or any foreign material

in the hopper, as this may jam the auger. Ensure that all pellet matter is cleared from

the  hopper  lid  gasket.  Store  fuel  away  from  the  heater  to  maintain  clearances  to

combustibles.

iii. Push the On/Off Button. The Power Light will light up.

Note: If the heater is in either Manual or Temperature mode, it will start automatically.

If the  heater  is  in Weekly  mode,  it  will  not  start  till  the  programmed  time period  is

reached.

3.  Ignition Stage

During the ignition stage, the igniter will turn on and start to heat the air in the burn pot.

The combustion blower will start and the vacuum switch will turn on. After a couple of

minutes, the auger will start feeding pellets into the burn pot.

The duration of the ignition cycle will depend on the type and quality of the fuel used. It is

normal  to  see  some  smoke  in  the  firebox  during  the  ignition  process.  The  smoke  will

stop once the moisture evaporates and the fuel lights.

4.  Heating

As  the  fire  builds,  more  fuel  will  be  added  and  after  approximately  10  minutes,  the

convection blower will start. This will distribute the heat from the heater into the room.

TURNING YOUR PELLET HEATER OFF

Push the On/Off Button. The display and power will turn off.

Turning the heater off does not disconnect all power from the unit. It will take approximately 30

minutes for the heater to turn off. The combustion blower and the convection blower will still be

running while the heater cools down.

DO  NOT TURN  OFF THE  UNIT  BY  DISCONNECTING THE  ELECTRICAL  POWER TO THE

UNIT.    THIS  WILL  STOP  THE  COMBUSTION  BLOWER,  CAUSING  THE  RELEASE  OF

SMOKE INTO THE HOUSE AND OVERHEATING OF THE HEATER.
