PROBLEM
The pressure gauge indicates a pressure of more than
8 bars.
SOLUTION
A certain difference from the nominal value is normal and
is explained by the tolerances of the internal components
(in this specific case, the pressure switch and pressure
gauge). Operation at a higher pressure, even up to 9
bars, does not compromise boiler safety. In addition to
the operational pressure switch, the steam generator is
also fitted with a safety pressure switch which trips at 9.5
bars and a certified safety valve which trips at 12 bars.
Moreover, the boiler is certified to resist up to 24 bars.
PROBLEM
There are drips from the fixed nozzle or gun.
SOLUTION
drips from the fixed nozzle or gun may have two main
causes. If the drips appear shortly after use, they are
caused by condensation of the steam in the circuit and are
normal. If the drips are continuous, they are most probably
caused by incorrect demineralisation of the water, leading
to leaks of steam from the solenoid valve as a result of
limescale or dirt.
PROBLEM
The steam generator is noisy.
SOLUTION
some noises are normal and attributable to the technical
characteristics of steam generators. When starting up the
VAP 8 A for the first time, you may hear a sometimes loud
noise caused by priming of the pump. During use of both
the VAP 8 and VAP 8 A, it is normal to hear cracks or gurgles
during the steam generation phase. During start-up, their
intensity can be reduced by venting the air in the circuit by
pressing the button on the gun or the fixed nozzle.
