if  any  of  the  previously-described  situations  should 
occur, it is prohibited to re-start the machine before the 
problems have been solved.

in particular, before moving away from the machine, the operator 
detecting  problems  of  any  nature  must  place  a  sign  on  the  it 
indicating that machine maintenance is in progress and that use is 
prohibited (eC-compliant signs can be purchased from the relevant 
suppliers).  routine  maintenance,  cleaning  and  correct  machine 
use  are  essential  factors  in  guaranteeing  long-lasting  machine 
performance and safety.

8.3 

EXTRAORDINARY MAINTENANCE

extraordinary  maintenance  includes  the  repair  of  any  accidental 
breakage and the replacement of worn or malfunctioning parts.

all electrical and mechanical interventions must only be 
performed by a zhermack s.p.a.-authorised maintenance 
technician.

any  modification  that  alters  machine  features  from 
a  safety  and  risk-prevention  point  of  view  can  only 
be  carried  out  by  the  Manufacturer  who  will  then 
certify conformity of the machine with safety standards. 
therefore any modification or maintenance intervention 
not  considered  in  this  manual  is  to  be  considered 
prohibited.  any  modification,  tampering  or  repair 
performed by unauthorised staff along with the use of 
non-original  spare  parts  relieve  the  Manufacturer  from 
any liability. if the necessary maintenance interventions 
are not considered in this use and Maintenance Manual, 
contact the authorised after-sales Centre.

8.4 

RE-START AFTER LONG PERIOD OF INACTIVITY

if  the  machine  is  re-started  after  a  particularly  long  period  of 
inactivity, operate as indicated in Chapter 6 regarding commissioning.
if  the  machine  functions  anomalously,  act  as  described  in  Chapter 
9  regarding  “diagnostics”.  if  the  problem  should  persist  or  is  not 
considered,  contact  the  authorised  after-sales  Centre  immediately.

8.5 

HOW TO REQUEST AFTER-SALES ASSISTANCE

Choose  one  of  the  following  options  to  request  after-sales 
assistance:
1. contact the authorised after-sales Centre;
2.  telephone  the  zhermack  s.p.a.  after-sales  service  at 
+39  0425.597.611  and  proceed  as  follows:  give  personal  data 
(e.g. address and telephone number); state the information given 
on the machine identification plate (see paragraph 3.3); explain the 
problem with the machine clearly;
3. fax all of the information stated in the previous point and the 
correctly filled-in identification form (see attachment 10.2) to the 
following n° +39 0425 53 596.

CHAPTER 9:   DIAGNOSTICS

9.1 

GENERAL WARNINGS

if  any  of  the  anomalies  described  below  should  occur, 
solve  the  problem,  where  allowed,  with  respect  to  all 
instructions  contained  in  this  manual.  if  the  problem 
persists, contact the authorised after-sales Centre.

9.2 

TROUBLESHOOTING

fault 
by activating the master switch in the “slow” and “fast” position 
the bowl does not turn.

Cause 
1. the plug is not inserted correctly.
2. the fuse is burned out.

reMedy
1. Connect the electric power supply plug correctly.
2. replace the fuse with one having the same features (f 250V 2.5a). 
3. Contact the authorised after-sales Centre.

faulty products expires after 10 years from the date in which the 
Manufacturer put the products on the market as envisioned by the 
85/374/eeC directive and Presidential decree 224/1988.

10.2  WARRANTY CERTIFICATE AND IDENTIFICATION FORM

1. With this document the Manufacturer certifies that the product 
has been built correctly, top quality materials have been used and 
all inspections necessary for compliance with european Community 
directives  have  been  performed.  the  product  is  covered  by  a 
warranty period of 36 months from the date of delivery to the user. 
Proof of this date is provided from the purchase document and the 
copy of the identification form. these documents must be shipped 
to  the  after-sales  Centre  with  the  machine.  Persons  wishing  to 
make use of the warranty must inform of the fault within 8 days 
of  its  discovery  for  the  effects  and  purpose  of  art.  1495  of  the 
Civil  Code.  the  warranty  is  limited  to  replacement  or  repair  of 
individual  components  or  pieces  with  manufacturing  defects  and 
does not cover costs related to transfer of technical staff, transport, 
packaging etc. breakdowns, faults or damage deriving from poor 
maintenance, incorrect power supply, negligence, inexperience and 
other causes not imputable to the Manufacturer and parts subject 
to  normal  wear  are  not  covered  by  the  warranty.  the  warranty 
does not cover breakdowns caused by failure to carry out routine 
maintenance due to customer negligence. this warranty does not 
provide  for  any  reimbursement  for  direct  or  indirect  damages  of 
any kind caused to persons or objects due to machine inefficiency.
2. the warranty is automatically rendered null and void whenever 
the  machine  is  repaired,  modified  or  tampered  with  by  the 
purchaser  or  unauthorised  third  parties.  the  liability  for  damage 
caused  by  faulty  products  expires  after  10  years  from  the  date  in 
which  the  Manufacturer  put  the  products  on  the  market,  after 
this time it becomes the user’s responsibility, as envisioned by the 
85/374/eeC directive.
3. to have work carried out under warranty the purchaser must only 
contact the dealer, Manufacturer-authorised after-sales centres or 
the Manufacturer itself. 
the warranty gives the right for free replacement of faulty parts. 
it does not, however, give the right for replacement of the entire 
machine.
4.  in  the  case  of  disputes  regarding  application  of  the  warranty, 
quality  or  conditions  of  the  machine  delivered,  the  purchaser 
cannot  suspend  or  delay  total  payment  or  payment  of  the 
instalments.
5.  no  reimbursement  can  be  requested  by  the  purchaser  for  loss 
of production.
6. the warranty is rendered null and void if:

a. the machine is damaged by a fall, exposure to fire, spilt liquids, 
lightening, natural disasters or, however, causes not imputable to 
manufacturing defects.
b. incorrect installation.
c.  incorrect  mains  connection  (incorrect  power  supply  nominal 
voltage) or suitable protection devices have not been installed.
d.   the serial number has been removed, cancelled or altered.
