Caption Menu Options
Select a Closed Caption mode.
The caption language options are English, French, and Spanish, use the
menu to select a language. If the selected language is not available on the
current program, the first available caption language for the program is dis-
played. If a user changes the channel and if the caption language, selected
by user, is not present on the channel, the first available caption language for
the program on the new channel is displayed.

• Digital Closed Captioning (Standard EIA /CEA 708) will appear only if pro-
vided by the broadcaster. Analog Closed Captioning (Standard EIA/CEA
608) will not appear on this receiver. However, if you are using the com-
posite or S-Video output at 480i to feed a TV receiver that has the Analog
Closed Captioning turned “ON”, captions will be displayed.
• The caption does not appear when Pause, Live TV/Playback (Timeshift),
record icon or progress Bar display appears on the TV screen. Press EXIT
to disappear the icon or progress Bar display.

DTV Caption
Selects a language for Closed Caption display, options are:
Off: Closed Caption is not displayed.
English: English is selected for the DTV caption.
Spanish: Spanish is selected for the DTV caption.
French: French is selected for the DTV caption.
