2 DESCRIPTION
2.1 Indication for use
In conjunction with the HXP 200 C illuminator and filter modules the Fluar Illuminator Z mot. is used to
excite fluorescence in specimens.
The Fluar Illuminator Z mot. is designed exclusively for operation with the Axio Zoom.V16 microscope.
The HXP 200 C illuminator generates extremely high-energy light in the visible and invisible range. The
related safety precautions and instructions for use must be strictly observed (see separate operating
manual).
When operating the microscope always use the anti-glare shield to avoid eye damage due to scattered
light.
The cover on the reflector turret of the Fluar Illuminator Z mot. is provided with safety contacts which
interrupt the beam path to the HXP 200 C when the cover is removed, in order to prevent glare and eye
damage.
The Fluar Illuminator Z mot. cannot be used on the coarse/fine drive with T-column 350 mm.
When operating the Fluar Illuminator Z mot. the separate operating manuals for the Axio Zoom.V16
microscope, HXP 200 C illuminator and SYCOP 3 system control panel (if used) must always be observed.
