Pretreatment is obligatory for semicritical components after each
application if they are intended for multiple use (see overview table).
Remove coarse impurities immediately after use (within one hour at
the most, avoid anti-drying).
Do not clean components with metal brushes or steel wool.
Electronic components (such as the facebow and the mandibular
jaw sensor) must not be pre-cleaned under any circumstances.

Disposable products are intended for single use on one patient and

All parts with semi-critical contact to the patient must be cleaned,
disinfected and sterilized before each use (see:

This applies in particular to the first use after delivery, as these parts
are delivered non-sterile.
After each use of the JMA-Optic system, reprocessing according to
DIN EN ISO 17664 is necessary.

8.1. Manual pretreatment

Work sequence manual pre-cleaning
(General hygiene safety regulations must be observed):

Rinse the components for at least one minute under running water (drinking water quality,
30°C ± 5°C, flow rate 2 l/min). If applicable: Flush all cavities of the components five times
using a disposable syringe (if necessary, syringe volume at least 5 ml) or water pressure gun.
Remove all visible contamination with the aid of a suitable cleaning brush (or a clean, soft and
lint-free cloth). which serves only this purpose. Openings brush out with a conical interdental brush.
