Causes the system to enter play mode and start playing audio and video. The system will issue a
“+Playing” status message when playback is about to start and when playing resumes.
Command Syntax:
play <filename>
Parameters:
filename
The name of the file to playback. The file is assumed to be on the previously specified storage
device.
The
play
command monitors the control input for single-character sub-commands. The list below
shows the control characters recognized. All other characters will be ignored.
‘P’ Pause playback
The player will issue a status message “+Paused” when the playback is paused.
‘R’ Resume playback at normal speed forward
The player will issue a “+Playing” status message and resume normal playback from the current
file position.
‘T’ Query the playback time
The player will report the current time into the file. The format of the message is
“+HH:MM:SS”
‘Fx’ Seek forward
‘Bx’ Seek backward
Fast forward or backward at specified speed (x = 1, 2, 3 or 4). Seek by skipping multiples of fixed
time intervals to create a fast forward/rewind playback at the specified rate.
‘S’ Query the player state
The player will report its current its current state with one of the following status messages:
“+Playing”, “+Paused”, “Fwd x” or “Rev x”, where “x” is the speed index specified by the
“F” or “R” subcommands.
‘A’ Seek to the beginning of the file
The player will issue a “+BOF” to notify that the playback position is now at the beginning of the
