4. Adjusting the disc brakes
Your Crossbuggy comes, as standard, with a high-quality brake system.
Using the brake lever on the pull-bar you can brake while on the move and
activate the parking brake when at a standstill. The braking power is distri-
buted over both disc brakes by means of a brake distribution device which
is directly connected to the wheels.
The parking brake
To engage the parking brake pull the
brake lever on the pull-bar and, using
your thumb, push the silver-coloured
locking lever forward towards the
Bowden cable. (Fig. 14)
To release the parking brake, pull
the brake lever beyond the locked
position. This automatically causes
the locking lever to spring out of
the locked position and the brake is
released.
Adjusting the brakes
The brakes can be adjusted at three
points: The adjustment screw on
the brake lever on the pull-bar, (this
changes the settings on both
brakes, fig. 15), and the two adjust
-
ment screws on the brake pads (here
you can adjust the braking action of
the two wheels independently of one
another, fig. 16). In the latter case
you must open the locknut first, then
make the necessary modifications
using the adjustment screw. Finally,
ensure that the locknut is tightened
again.
