Route the option wiring inside the enclosure as shown in
-B. Take proper precautions so that the front
covers will easily fit back onto the drive.
Users may also choose to route the option wiring through openings on the front cover of some models. Remove
the perforated tabs on the left side of the front cover as shown in
-A to create the necessary openings
on these models.
Refer to the Peripheral Devices & Options section of the drive instruction manual for more information.
Note:
Separate communication cables from main circuit wiring and other electrical lines to avoid potential sources of electrical
interference.

Firmly connect the PROFINET Cat 5e communication cable to the option modular connector CN1 port 1 or port

Install PROFINET communications cables apart from main-circuit wiring and other electrical and power lines.
Ensure the cable end is firmly connected (see
). Refer to
Communication Cable Specifications on
for details.
Note:
Do not connect or disconnect the communication cable while the drive is powered up or while the drive is in operation. Failure to
comply may cause a static discharge, which will cause the option card to stop working properly. Cycle power on the drive and
option card to reestablish functionality.

Use the second option modular connector CN1 port to daisy chain a series of drives where applicable.
