1 Connection of side stand switch
coupler.
Check the locking condition of
the coupler.
Disconnect the coupler and
check the pins (bent or broken
terminals and locking condition
of the pins). Defective connections

Re-
connect or replace the harness.
Turn the main switch to “ON”,
and retract and extend the
sidestand.
After the above work is finished,
check the condition of the fault
code in diagnostic mode of the
Yamaha diagnostic tool.
Condition is Recovered

Go to
item 6 and finish the service.
Condition is Detected

Go to
item 2.
2 Connection of main harness
ECU coupler
Check the locking condition of
the coupler.
Disconnect the coupler and
check the pins (bent or broken
terminals and locking condition
of the pins). Defective connections

Re-
connect or replace the harness.
Turn the main switch to “ON”,
and retract and extend the
sidestand.
After the above work is finished,
check the condition of the fault
code in diagnostic mode of the
Yamaha diagnostic tool.
Condition is Recovered

Go to
item 6 and finish the service.
Condition is Detected

Go to
item 3.
3 Harness continuity Open or short circuit

Replace
the harness.
Between side standswitch and
ECU
Between side standswitch and
EG ground
Turn the main switch to “ON”,
and retract and extend the
sidestand.
After the above work is finished,
check the condition of the fault
code in diagnostic mode of the
Yamaha diagnostic tool.
Condition is Recovered

Go to
item 6 and finish the service.
Condition is Detected

Go to
item 4.
4 Sidestand switch malfunction Diagnostic mode (code No.
D20).
Sidestand retracted: Displays
ON
Sidestand extended: Displays
OFF
An indicated value is incor-
rect.

Perform the sidestand
switch.
Turn the main switch to “ON”,
and retract and extend the
sidstand.
After the above work is finished,
check the condition of the fault
code in diagnostic mode of the
Yamaha diagnostic tool.
Condition is Recovered

Go to
item 6 and finish the service.
Condition is Detected

Go to
item 5.
5 ECU malfunction Replace the ECU.
6 EG warning light, delete the
fault code. Delete this fault code with the
status “Recovered” in the
Yamaha diagnostic tool.
