When connected to the same node or room as the ID of the previous connection history
The current connection ID is displayed in white. To communicate with this con-
nection, proceed to “
Communicating with other station
” (page 44).
If the current connection destination is different from the previous connection
ID, turning the
DIAL
knob displays the previous connection ID in gray. When the
PTT switch is pressed or [connection ID] is touched, the node will connect [
con-
nection ID
] is touched, the node will connect to the previous connection destina-
tion.

While operating the Portable Node, may be not possible to switch between “
Access Point
” and “
Direct Operation
”. Press
and hold the [
DX
] key to return to the transceiver setting screen, then press the
Band B DIAL
knob.
While operating the portable node, the following functions may be set and operated on the portable node FTM-400XD/D
transceiver.

Setting the speaker mute
You can mute the audio output of the speaker of the node station FTM-400XD/D transceiver.
You cannot set it in Direct Operation.
Touch the [
MUTE
] on the LCD each time toggles the mute mode as follows.

: Disable mute.
MUTE ALL
: Mute both the received voice from the C4FM digital station and the voice from the node station on the
Internet.

Mute the received voice from the C4FM digital station.

Mute the voice from the node station on the Internet.
When the MUTE setting is enabled, the [MUTE] in orange on the LCD.
