The
VX-7R
Set (Menu) mode, already described in parts of many previous chapters, is
easy to activate and set. It may be used for configuration of a wide variety of transceiver
parameters, some of which have not been detailed previously. Use the following procedure
to activate the Set (Menu) mode:
1.
Press the
key, then press the
key to enter the Set mode.
2.
Turn the
DIAL
to select the Menu Item to be adjusted.
3.
Press the
/
key to adjust or select the parameter to be changed on the Menu
item selected in above step.
4.
After completing your selection and adjustment, press the
PTT
switch momentarily to
exit the Set mode and exit to normal operation.
Some Menu Items must be enabled for adjustment by pressing the
key be-
fore selecting the parameter to be adjusted.
“MY MENU” Short-cut Key Setup
The
MY MENU
key function allows you to create a short-cut path for recall of one of
Menu Items. The
key then serves as the “Short-Cut” key..
1.
Press and hold in
the
key while turning the radio on. This procedure switches the
key between the “Internet Connection” function and the “
MY MENU
” key function.
2.
Recall the Menu Item which you wish to assign to the
key as a Menu short-cut.
3.
Press and hold in the
key for 1/2 second to assign the Menu Item to the
key..

Function
Set the Squelch threshold lebel for the AM and FM-
Narrow mode.
Set the Squelch threshold lebel for the FM-Wide mode.
Setting of the synthesizer steps.
Selects the Operating mode.
Enables/disables the Automatic Repeater Shift function.
Sets the magnitude of the Repeater Shift.
Sets the Repeater Shift Direction.
Enables/disables the Audio Mute feature while using Dual
Band reception.
Enables/disables the Keypad beeper.
Selects the Control Locking lockout combination.
Stores Alpha-Numeric “Tags” for the Memory channels.
Selects the method of selection of channels for Memory
Storage.
Selects what action will happen on a “flagged” Memory
Channel.
Enables/disables the Hyper Memory Write feature.
Enables/disables the BUSY LED (“STROBE”) while the
Squelch is open.
Setting of the Display contrast level.
Setting of the Display brightness level.
Selects the display while the transceiver’s power is off.
Selects the LCD/Keypad Lamp mode.
Edits the “STROBE” color.
Selects the “STROBE” color for each operating status.
Selects the S- & TX PO meter Symbol.
