Scanning Function

The 

FTM-6000R/E

 supports the following scanning functions:

• 

VFO Scan

• 

Memory Channel Scan

• 

PMG (Primary Memory Group) Scan

• 

Programmable Memory Scan (PMS)

VFO Scan / Memory Scan / PMG Scan

To find frequencies where there are signals in VFO mode, memory mode or PMG mode:
1.  Press the [

V/M

 mw

] key to switch to VFO mode or 

Memory mode.

2.  Press and hold the microphone [

UP

] or [

DWN

] switch 

to start scanning.

• 

When the VFO scan is active, “VFO.SCN” appears 

on the display.

• 

When the Memory scan is active, “MEM.SCN” ap-

pears on the display.

• 

When the PMG scan is active, “PMG.SCN” appears 

on the display.

• 

If the 

DIAL

 knob is rotated while scanning is in prog-

ress, the scanning will continue up or down in fre-

quency according to the direction of the 

DIAL

 Knob 

rotation.

• 

When a signal is received until the signal fades out. 

Two seconds after the signal fades out, scanning  

resumes.

3.  Press the 

PTT*

 switch or [

UP

] or [

DWN

] on the  

microphone to cancel the scanning.

*The transceiver will not transmit in this case.

• 

If the scan has paused on a signal, rotating the 

DIAL

 knob will cause scanning to resume 

instantly.

• 

 If the transceiver is turned OFF while scanning, when the transceiver is turned ON, 

scanning will resume.

Programmable Memory scan (PMS)

This function scans only the range of frequencies between the lower and upper limits 

registered in a pair of PMS Programmable Memory channels. 50 sets of PMS memory 

channels (L01/U01 to L50/U50) are available.

Manual which may be downloaded from the Yaesu website.
