The [ RX CLAR
], [
TX CLAR
], [
CLEAR
] buttons and [
VFO-B/CLAR
] knob are used to offset the receive fre
T uency,
the transmit fre T uency, or both, from their settings on the VF 2 - $ fre T uency. Four small numbers on the TFT ' isplay
show the current Clari ¿ er offset. The Clari ¿ er controls on the FT
DX
1200 are designed to allow you to preset an offset up
to “ . kH ] ) without actually retuning, and then to activate it via the Clari ¿ er [
RX CLAR
] and [
TX CLAR
] buttons.
This feature is ideal for following a drifting station, or for setting the small fre T uency offsets sometimes utili ] ed in ';
“Split” work.
Here is the techni T ue for utili ] ing the Clari ¿ er
1. 3 ress the [ RX CLAR
] button. The “
RX ” notation
will appear in the TFT ' isplay, and the programmed
offset will be applied to the receive fre T uency.

] knob will allow
you to modify your initial offset on the À y. 2 ffsets of
up to “ . kH ] may be set using the Clari ¿ er.
To cancel Clari ¿ er operation, press the [ RX CLAR
] but-
ton. The “ RX ” notation will disappear from the display.

Turning the Clari ¿ er off merely cancels the applica-
tion of the programmed offset from the receive and
or the transmit fre T uencies. To clear the Clarifier
offset, and reset it to “ ] ero,” press the [ CLEAR
] but-
ton. The programmed offset is displayed in the small
multi-channel window of the fre
T uency display.

The Clari ¿ er operation including the offset fre T uen-
cy) will be memori ] ed independently on each VF 2
stack of VF 2 - $ and VF 2 -B.

In CW mode the factory default setting of the Tuning 2 ffset Indicator shows the
CW Center Tuning, instead of Clari ¿ er 2 ffset. If you wish to change this so that the
Clari ¿ er 2 ffset is also displayed on CW, use the following procedure
