UNI T INSTALLATION FOR FT-902DE/SD

The FM Unit operation for the FT-9 02D E and

SD

m odels can be installed in a matter o f minutes.

Re move the top cover of the transceiver, and re

move the black cover of the circuit board rack
( le ft-hand side of the transceiver) .

I n stall  the  F M   Unit  in  the  2 2-pin  connector.  The
component  side  of the  circuit  board  should  be  on
the  sid e  facing  the  VFO  enclosu re .  Use  the  two
circuit  board  restraining  clips  to  secure  the  board
in  place,  securing  the  clips  to  the  main  circuit
board  rac k  with  the  two  screws  included  with  the
kit.

The  FM  Uni t  will  p rovide satisfactory  operation as
is .  However,  in  areas  of  very  high  occupancy,
where  channels  are  crowded,  an  additional  F M

crystal  filter i s  an  available option.  Refer t o  Fig.  2 ,
a n d   rem ove  t h e   jumper  wire  shown.  Install  the
filter  o n   the  board,  solder  the  connections,  and

i nstall the FM Unit as described above .

The positions of the alignmen t potentiometers o f

in terest c a n be found by referring t o Fig. 2 .

Replace t h e circuit board cover, a n d replace the

top cover o f the transe>eiver. Installation is now
comp le t e .
