o
IP Address -- An IP address is the numerical address of a server registered on the Internet. An
IP address format is 123.456.789.00.
o
Machine Name -- This option is normally for use with local area networks or an Intranet within a
company. Servers in these types of networks are given names that are easier to remember than IP
addresses.

NOTE: Finding a person's IP address for videoconferencing on the Internet is often a confusing
process. To help you find people's IP addresses easier, a number of Internet servers run the User
Location Service, or ULS. To access a ULS server, use Internet Explorer to open Web sites at
www.ULS.microsoft.com or at www.four11.com. (You can access several servers quickly at the
Microsoft site by adding a number after the ULS, for example ULS1.micorsoft.com,
ULS2.microsoft.com and so on.) The ULS servers not only list people by name, they also show
the Person's current IP address to call to videoconference.
