Sharpness
The Sharpness feature allows you to set the default for the
Sharpness option on the
Image Quality
screen. Changing the
setting adjusts the amount of image edge definition on scanned
prints. Use the sharp levels to increase the amount of edge
definition for original documents such as maps, line art, or
graphics that have crisp lines. Use the soft levels to decrease the
amount of edge definition to scan photographs or any other
documents for which softer, less focused, output prints are
desired. This option is especially useful when scanning very
coarse dot screens.
