Clearing Paper Jams from Tray 5 

To resolve the error that appears on the control panel, follow the instructions provided and remove all 

paper from the Tray 5 area. 
1.

 

Remove the jammed paper from the tray. 

 

2.

 

Ensure that the paper-feed entrance where the tray connects to the printer is clear. 

3.

 

Open the left side door of the printer. Remove any jammed paper from the left side door areas. 

 

4.

 

If the paper is torn, check inside the printer for pieces of paper, then gently remove them.   

For details, refer to 

Clearing Paper Jams from the Left Side Door Areas

 on page 242. 

5.

 

Close the left side door. 

6.

 

Fan the paper that you removed and ensure that all four corners align neatly. 

7.

 

Load paper into the tray. Ensure that the leading edge of the paper lightly touches the paper-feed 

entrance. 

8.

 

At the prompt, verify the paper settings:
