This button activates an equalizer setting optimised for classical music.
(7) DISCO button
This button activates an equalizer setting optimised for disco music.
(8) JAZZ button
This button activates an equalizer setting optimised for jazz music.
(9) ROCK button
This button acitvated an equalizer setting optimised for rock music.
(10) DISPLAY/MEMORY button
This button has 2 functions:
While the display (2) shows the individual EQ bands (spectrum display), you can use this
button to switch the display mode.
In the setting mode for the individual bands, this button saves the user-defined setting
to one of the 5 save buttons USER PRESET (11).
(11) USER PRESET button
5 user-defined equalizer settings can be saved to these save buttons.
Switching on for the first time
› Check again that all connections are correct.
› Turn the equalizer on with the mains switch POWER (1).
› Activate the amplifier‘s connection for effect devices and the connection to which the equalizer
is connected.
› Start the music playing on the play device (e.g. CD-Player).

Setting the equalizer bands
› Use the EQ MODE button (4) to select the desired setting type:
ALT setting > bandwidth high (several bands are adjusted at the same time)
FINE setting > bandwidth low (only one band adjusted)
› Use the CURSOR CONTROL buttons (3) 4 or 6 to select the band to be set. The selected band
blinks in the display (2).
› Use the CURSOR CONTROL buttons (3) 8 or 2 to set the desired level of the selected band.
Saving and accessing user-defined settings
Once you have set the equalizer bands to the desired level, you can save the setting. The 5 USER
PRESET (11) buttons are available for this purpose.
› Press the DISPLAY/MEMORY button (10) while your setting is shown in the display (2).
› Press the USER PRESET button (11) which the setting is to be saved to.
› To access the setting again, simply press the USER PRESET button (11) which the setting has
been saved to.
Accessing factory presettings
There are already 4 factory settings preprogrammed to the unit for different music material. Fur-
thermore there is presetting (FLAT) which has no effect on the sound.
› To access one of these presettings, press the CLASSIC (6), DISCO (7), JAZZ (8) or Rock (9) but-
tons.
› If you would like the equalizer to have no effect or would like to reset all the equalizer bands to
the initial position, press the FLAT (5) button.
