4.  Stop approximately every minute to check rope is winding uniformly on the drum. Make sure vehicle is

in park with parking brake applied before exiting vehicle. Do not check, touch, or attempt to reposition
rope with load on winch rope.

Winch Control Overview

All XP winches come with two (2) different control switches.

ATV Winches:

Handlebar Switch and Corded Remote/Wireless Remote

UTV Winches:

 Dash Switch and Corded Remote

All switches have images on the control buttons to indicate the direction of rope movement when the
button is pressed.  The corded remote control switch must be connected to the remote control socket
installed on the vehicle before operation.  Connect it by lifting the remote socket cover and plugging it into
the remote socket.  It is designed to attach in only one orientation.

The wireless Remote Control is shown in the image above.  Activate the wireless control by pressing and
holding the Wireless button until the Blue LED Light is illuminated.  Pressing the Power-Out Button will
extend the winch rope.  Pressing the Power-In Button will retract the winch rope.  The wireless control will
turn off automatically after 5 minutes of inactivity.

The wireless Remote Control has a range of approximately 65 ft. (20m) that may be slightly different
depending on receiver location on the vehicle.  The remote is powered by two (2) 23A batteries that will
need to be replaced periodically depending on how frequently the wireless control is used.  Replace
batteries by opening the battery door with a Phillips head screwdriver and lifting the membrane cover.

NOTE:

To maximize the life of the remote, store the remote in the vehicle and keep it away from oil or water.

Before Each Use

WARNING

Inspect winch rope, hook and slings before operating winch. Frayed, kinked or damaged winch

rope must be replaced immediately. Damaged components must be replaced before operation.

Wrap the rope under approximately 500 lbs. of tension before first use. Otherwise, the rope

strength may be reduced and rope binding during operation may occur.

Work in a well-ventilated area. Explosive hydrogen gas can accumulate and explode when

ignited by a spark or open flame.

Remove all jewelry and metallic objects before working near batteries.
