4 Operation
4.1 Switch on the instrument
Note
The instrument has an energy saving feature to avoid
unnecessary battery depletion.
The energy saving feature switches the instrument off if no
key has been pressed for an hour.
The energy saving feature is not active:

if the power is supplied by the plug-in power supply

if the AutoStore function is active

if a PC is connected

if the recorder cable is connected

if the printer cable is connected
(for external printers)
1 Place the instrument on a flat surface and protect it
against intense light and heat.
2 Connect the conductivity measuring cell to the
instrument.
3 Press the
e
key.
The display test appears briefly on the display.
The instrument then switches automatically to the
previously selected measuring mode.
4 Check or determine the cell constant [C]. The
procedure is described in section 4.3 on page 25.
