Sawmill Operation

TURNING THE LOG

CAUTION!

Do not turn the log while on the log bed. Damage to the log

bed may result.

Use a forklift to lift the log off of log bed. Once off of the log bed, it can be turned and

replaced in the new orientation.

5.5 Blade Guide Arm Operation

Set the outer blade guide to clear the widest section of the log by less than 1" (25.4 mm).

Use the blade guide toggle switch on the control panel to adjust the outer blade guide as

necessary.

Push the switch to the left to move the arm in; push the switch to the right to move the

arm out.

See Figure 5-7.

Use the blade guide toggle switch to readjust the outer blade guide as you are cutting in

order to keep the guide within 1" (2.5 cm) of the log.

Adjust the arm out before returning the carriage.
