a = 155 - (1500 / 39,5) = 117 mm
•
Slacken locknut (30) and turn pull rod (14) until
dimension "a" of the compression spring corresponds
with the required braking torque M
B
of one side as
specified on the label. The label is on the brake lever
directly under the compression spring.
•
Secure pull rod (14) with locknut (30).

Replacing the brake shoe
Replace the brake linings when they are
worn down to a thickness of less than 3-
4 mm or no longer usable.
Before working on the brake secure the
counterweight and the car against any
uncontrolled movement. Disconnect the
motor and the lift system from the mains
supply. No torque may act on the traction
sheave.
•
Slacken locknut (30) and screw out pull rod (14). Cau-
tion! The brake shoe lever will tilt outwards.
•
Remove shaft circlip (6) from bolt (5). Remove the bolt
and take off the shoe.
•
Slacken locknut (9) and unscrew bolt (10) through
some turns.
•
Regrease the sleeve bearing bushes, insert new brake
shoe (4), install bolt (5) and the new shaft circlip (6).
•
Tilt brake shoe lever (1) back and install spring (13),
spring plate (12) and pull rod (14).
•
Adjust the brake torque. Secure the setting with lock-
nut (30).
•
Adjust the remaining play of the magnet to
x = 2
+0.5/-0.8
mm and secure the setting.
•
Bed-in the linings.
Adjusting the braking torque
The loaded spring length "a" is used to estimate the brak-
ing torque.
The total braking torque is M
btotal
= 2 x M
b
M
b
:
braking torque of one half of the twin brake
(recommended setting 125% of the rated motor
torque)
Distance “a” for the braking torque is calculated accor-
ding to the following formula:
a = 155 - (M
B
/ 39.5)
a
distance in mm
M
B
braking torque required for one half of
the brake in Nm
