GSR 36 E - A machine with integrated water softener
With the type GSR 36 E with integrated softener (SoftMatik) the lightning up of the pilot light
„REG“ (6) signalizes a lack of salt in the salt container.
- In this case fill the salt container with a special regenerating salt for water softeners.

Fill the salt container with regenerating salt only!
Other chemicals like e.g. detergent or rinse aid will damage the machine inevitable.
This salt should be fine grained (max. grain size 5-7 mm). Salt tablets are not suitable. We
recommend our Winterhalter SoftMatik regenerating salt. Fill the salt approximately up to the
water level of the tank in order that there is enough space in the lid for the float switch. This
corresponds to two bags of „Winterhalter SoftMatik regenerating salt“ (1000g). It is easier to
fill in the salt when using the enclosed funnel. Remove the remaining salt from the thread and
tight surface of the salt container.
- After filling the salt container tightly screw on the cover. The lid has to be put on straightly.
- After each filling a wash cycle has to be engaged.
7. After washing
- Switch off the mains switch (1).
- Open the door.
- Take the rack out of the machine.
- Take out the overflow pipe.
Thus the tank is drained.
Automatic cleaning of the washing zone
- Close the door after the tank is drained
- Switch on the mains switch (1).

Press the button (6).
Thus the tank filling is released by the rinsing and the tank inside above the surface strainers
is cleaned. Operate this procedure only for about 5 to 10 seconds.
- Switch off the mains switch (1) and open the door.
- Scrap the remaining dirt onto the surface strainers and take them out of the machine.
